Welcome to our Summer newsletter, the last for 2011. I can't quite believe it's December already and almost Christmas!  Once again it has been a very busy last few months for me in the mad rush towards the end of the year.  I'm just back from a week shooting in the spectacular Tasmanian wilderness, and only a few weeks earlier I spent three weeks in South Australia photographing the Flinders Ranges and surrounds.

Over the last few months I have spent a considerable amount of time shooting for personal as well as commercial projects. As a result I'll be releasing a lot more new limited edition prints in 2013. In the mean time I've released a couple of new images which are a taste of what is to come - I hope you enjoy.

Best wishes to everyone for a safe and happy festive season and a fantastic 2012!

Merry Christmas,
Scott.

Scott recently completed a three week round trip to South Australia to photograph the Flinders Ranges, an area he had not previously visited.  With over 6000km of driving and sunrise and sunset shoots every day, Scott had plenty of opportunities to capture some great Australian scenery.

On returning from the trip Scott claimed he had captured "some of my best images yet."  He also noted "There's plenty more to come I assure you.  The Flinders Ranges and surrounding area makes for a truly Epic landscape and with great weather for photography, I came back with a really diverse range of photographs.  I can't wait to share more of what I captured from this trip. I just have to sort through and select the best ones!"

It seems everyone just loves Scott's image 'The Wall'.  Scott was recently announced as a finalist in the 2011 International Loupe Awards, receiving a prestigious and highly sought after Gold Award for 'The Wall'. Although pitted against some tough international competition the image delivered Scott a third place position in the landscape category - with Scott edging out some of the photography industry’s biggest international names. This is the second Gold award Scott has been awarded for this image, which was shot earlier this year in China.  Further to the Gold, Scott also received several other awards in the 2011 International Loupe Awards including Silver and Bronze awards for both landscape and aviation images.  Click here to see more of Scott's award winning images.

Scott's 2012 calendar - the perfect Christmas gift

A great selection of panoramic images Scott has taken around Australia over the last few years. The images are bigger than ever, covering the full width of the page.

This year we've enlarged the size of the boxes slightly for each day of the month, so there's more room to write for those with a busy schedule.

We have once again ensured the quality you're accustomed to in Scott's calendar, including the use of premium stock and wire binding.

Just in time for Christmas

Place your limited edition print orders by 09 December and we'll do our best to get your prints to you in time for Christmas. For Scott's 2012 calendar and gift certificate orders we ask you have your orders placed by no later than 18 December to allow the best chance for delivery by the 24th for Australian recipients (order earlier for overseas orders). If you have any urgent deadlines that lie outside of the dates listed above please contact us and we will do our best to help.

Latest release - Oasis of Serenity

Scott recently released 'Oasis of Serenity', taken on the banks of the Murray river in late October.

"Sometimes I love being a landscape photographer more than others. Taking this image was definitely one of those moments. Sitting by the Murray River as the sun rose I was overcome with sense of calm, peace and quiet, totally untroubled by life as I relaxed on my own at the river’s edge."

"A river such as this comes to life as the sun rises for a new day and on this occasion it was hard to not just sit back and enjoy the moment, watching the river flow downstream and the abundant wildlife go about their morning activities. I hope this image conveys some of what I felt as I sat with my camera and tripod this morning."

Latest release - Outback storm

Outback storm, which was shot in the South Australian outback is one of Scott's latest releases.

"I'm often amazed at how quickly weather changes. As I took this photo, it was calm and behind me it was blue sky and sunny. Yet moments after I took this photo and made the mad dash back to the car, I was subjected to incredibly strong winds and heavy rain as this storm front came through. The dry desert around me quickly became submerged under water with flash flooding the result. The wind was so strong that further up the road from this location large high tension power lines and poles were brought down and the floodwaters so deep and current so strong that I was unable to return to my nights accommodation- instead having to seek refuge at a nearby pub for the night. It's times like these though where I feel lucky to have had my camera at hand to capture such amazing weather in action."
